Over the past few years, I have made several things use my Gmail to send email. Lately, this includes this website here, my firewall, my file server, and several small Raspberry Pi projects. Everytime I need to set something new up, I find I have to look and search and look and hope to find the Gmail Server details I am looking for...

Ususally, I *HOPE* to be able to find a specific webpage from google: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/13287

Yeah, I know I can just bookmark it, which I have done. But since this is my website, and I am trying to accumulate all this info into 1 central spot (here), I decided to put it up here as well.

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - requires SSL:

pop.gmail.com

Use SSL: Yes

Port: 995

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS or SSL:

smtp.gmail.com

Use Authentication: Yes

Port for TLS/STARTTLS: 587

Port for SSL: 465

Server timeouts

Greater than 1 minute, we recommend 5

Full Name or Display Name:

[your name]

Account Name or User Name:

your full email address (including @gmail.com or @your_domain.com)

Email Address:

your email address (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or username@your_domain.com)

Password:

your Gmail password

Since I do not yet have a domain name, nor an email server, I like to use my Gmail account to send out emails. With these details above, I have been able to successfully configure everything I have wanted to.

Lastly, don't forget to enable 'Less Secure Apps' on your gmail account:
